On the other hand, he gives only the general outlines of the history of the immigration to this country from the three Scandinavian countries, and barely touches upon the movement of expansion so thoroughly analyzed by Mr Babcock. One could wish that she had made more use of the characteristic passages of this history. Richardson was a sturdy old pioneer a man of strong character and of marked likes and dislikes.
